I'm a self-proclaimed inspiration junkie, so reading as many self-improvement and spiritual books as possible is ALWAYS on my to-do list. These days, with two toddlers at home, I mostly listen to books on my Audible app on the way to work and while running around in Atlanta traffic. If the book is REALLY good on audio, I purchase a hard copy. My favorite books of this year which I purchased twice (on audio and hard copy) include:
Presence by Amy Cuddy - AWESOME read! If you've seen her Ted Talk, you MUST read this book. I'm so inspired by Amy and enjoy following her on Instagram : ).
Money: A Love Story by Kate Northrup - This books goes beyond pure financial advice to dig into why we are the way we are with money. While this is a good one to listen to, you must at least download the PDF to follow the activities or get the book if you want to take full advantage of the content.
The Magic by Rhonda Byrne - This year I focused A LOT on gratitude (it started when our au pair gave me a copy of this book) and it totally shifted my energy and increased my happiness. I thought I was a grateful person before, but I had hardly scratched the surface. Read and do the activities in this book and Thank and Grow Rich by Pam Grout, and you are guaranteed to manifest some cool shit because of the amazing positivity you will feel and exude from PRACTICING gratitude on a regular basis.
Here are my other superlatives from my 2016 reads:
Best Book to Listen to on Audible: Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes
Best Book When You Feel Like Life Sucks: Tears to Triumph by Marianne Williamson
Best Book to Change Your Thoughts About Money: The Soul of Money by Lynn Twist & Teresa Barker
Best Book to Listen to Over and Over Again: Letting Go by David Hawkins
Best Book to Change Your Actions: Presence by Amy Cuddy
I'm looking forward to more good reads in 2017. If you have any suggestions, do tell me in the comments. What did you read this year that you LOVED?
I help people be true to their inner calling and lead the life they love.
